fantastic Brazil v Japan match, as Japan hoped for a short time. Parreira rested five regular starters: Cafu & Emerson, on a yellow card each and at risk of suspension if either got another, Adriano, Ze Roberto and Roberto Carlos. must've been good news for Zico isn't it. but dear me, in come Gilberto Silva, Juninho, Cicinho and Robinho.

Brazil posed all the early threats, as Ronaldo headed wide in front of goal after 7 minutes. a minute later, Japan goalkeeper Kawaguchi pushed Ronaldo's sharp shot away. Kawaguchi hurled himself to his right to save Ronaldo's yet another shot in the 22nd minute. he pushed a shot by Robinho over the bar, deflected a powerful drive by Juninho away. then here comes the shock: Japan scored in the 34th minute. of course, it was only a matter of time before Brazil scored and it came just before half time. Ronaldinho lobbed the ball to the penalty area and Cicinho nodded it into the goal mouth, where Ronaldo headed into the Japanese net. 13th World Cup goal for him, moving into a tie with Just Fontaine. another goal by Juninho and Gilberto each, before Ronaldo matched Gerd Muller's 14-WorldCUP goal record. after 81 minutes, Ronaldo directed the ball into the corner of the net from 20m and made it a 4-1 victory for Brazil.

Ghana v Czech Republic

shocking 2-0

Ghana provided the biggest shock of the 2006 World Cup so far as they comfortably beat the world's second-ranked nation the Czech Republic 2-0 to keep alive their hopes of a place in the last 16. Ghana made the breakthrough after just two minutes thanks to Gyan, who supplied the perfect finish after Stephen Appiah had delivered a good cross into the area from the left. Ghana were impressive going forward. Appiah twice came close while Gyan saw his close range effort blocked by Cech. Matthew Amoah also sent a shot wide. The game took a twist in the 64th minute when Ghana were awarded a penalty after Ujfalusi's trip on Amoah. Ujfalusi was given a straight red card by the referee but the Czechs could thank their lucky stars when Gyan's spot-kick came back off the post. Petr Cech was outstanding for the Czech Republic as he frustrated the Ghanaians time and time again with a string of superb saves. Ghana would have scored three or four against the Czech Republic if not for Cech, who had more work cut out for him after the dismissal of Ujfalusi. Ghana sealed the victory they fully deserved with a thunderbolt from Muntari in the 82nd minute after Gyan provided the opening.

great game by Ghana, definitely a big shock of the 2006 World Cup.

just returned from visiting some friends:D Portugal's match was going on, fantastic first goal for Portugal, when Deco broke the deadlock with a wonderful strike from 25 yards out in the second half. there was also a penalty kick for Portugal, taken by 17 Cristiano Ronaldo. great goal that was, he flicked the ball into the top left corner of the net (judging by where he was facing) while the goalkeeper moved a bit to his left and dived. lol obviously the wrong direction. anyway the match just ended, Portugal won 2-0, that's great.

gonna watch the Czech game at midnight soon bye.

England VS Trinidad&T

2-0 lol

fantastic start by England, Trinidad&T didn't touch the ball for the first minute and 36 seconds lol. eh funny rofl Ashley Cole didn't even wear his soccer shoes properly for the first 5 minutes or so and he had to keep putting them back on. the commentator remarked that England showed good pace. still 0-0 at half time, and Terry pulled off an unbelievable save. forgot which guy he from Trinidad&T and he dribbled past even Robinson the gk and nearly placed the ball in the back of the net when Terry rammed the ball overhead and he landed in the net area lol. and yet again when the ball came back to England's penalty area, Terry again i think shot the ball away to the midfield, putting England out of danger. he deserves much credit for that close save. also when Wayne Rooney came on at 57 minutes, replacing Owen (second time he got substituted in two games alrd), the whole crowd was cheering. Lampard had 3 shots on goal and all were saved or sth what a pity. then of course, the two rather surprising late goals. in the 83rd minute, Beckham dribbled the ball down the right flank and crossed it to Crouch who was in the penalty area, who headed the ball into goal, making it 1-0. 8 minutes later, one minute into stoppage time (90 + 1), Gerrard dribbled down the centre, past a few defenders, and fired from long range into the back of the net, giving the Trinidad&T goalkeeper no chance. if you saw the replay, you'll see that the ball was out of his reach.

in the beginning i didn't think much about this match, but guess it looks like England possibly might have a good chance in this World Cup.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D today was fun! eh actually im exaggerating it la but then its quite ok lar. so ok let's start with the morning.

i told qianhui what was a good time to watch X-Men la so then picked 1.05. so i sms nicole chew then she told me she reached bugis alrd -_- then i ask qianhui whether we shld go earlier once her tuition finish. then she say ok. and i was late wtfbbq. how i supposed to know take so long i thought less than 30 minutes. anw i reach around 11.36 then nicole say they go foodcourt eat and they say tzuhsiang also came -_- and to think they thought i believed rofl. /th was at class chalet, even qh know. =D anw i finally got to see qianhui in person. looks so different from yearbook class photo. then not much la so we eat then we went to buy tickets for X-Men at 1.05.

and then qianhui and nicole carried out their PLAN -_- turns out its not even a very big matter, they walking there i alrd know what they going to do. they were going to take neoprints -_-_-_-_- then nicole so lame she was like "huh how you know?" even a retard would know lah. haiz just few days ago at class gathering took. waste $ as nicole said heh. and only 20 minutes passed there. after that went Kinokuniya and i saw some nice books but didn't buy anything, while nicole bought some comic dunno what it is. so after that we went to the cinema and milled outside for a while before the movie start and we talked crap. then nicole and qianhui jumbled the tickets then nicole chose one.

then we watched la. so nice la X-Men. never watched before so i kept asking they all what this what that lols. got so many characters this time like shadowcat(?) juggernaut, the multiple man, archangel, PHOENIX! and dunno others lah.

after the movie we go Cold Storage go buy chips for our ij gathering on 14 june (can't wait!:D) which was the actual main reason that we met today. anw we bought a few la. then nicole bought mamee -_- AND THEN AT THE CASHIER WE LEFT ONE WHOLE BAG OF CHIPS BEHIND LOLS. thank god i saw cos i was wondering "eh why only 2 bags of chips?" then realised we probably left something behind. so i went back and took thank god. then went McDonalds -_- only ate fries. then qianhui's mum called or summat then we decided to go home lor.

see so fun right today. lols like icebreaker according to qh cos first time we met. don't forget to leave a tag!:D

eh this is quite a long post compared to the previous few.
