'Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga produced an outstanding display to oust second seed Rafael Nadal 6-2 6-3 6-2 and reach the final of the Australian Open.'

I don't really know that much about tennis, but I have been following the Australian Open quite a bit, and it looks like the unseeded Tsonga has been brilliant in this Open. After beating Andy Murray in round one, world number 38, and competing only in his fifth Grand Slam, now thrashing Nadal 6-2 6-3 6-2, producing 49 winners to 13 from Nadal, and ending the epic with an ace. Inspirational Tsonga was in complete command, and Nadal had no answer, being made to look 'one dimensional, under powered and half-a-step slow - impossible accusations until now' (from BBC Sport's Piers Newbery), even though Nadal himself had not previously dropped a set in the Open.

and on the women's side, Maria Sharapova reached the Australian Open final with a 6-3 6-1 win over Jelena Jankovic, where she faces Ana Ivanovic, while previously stunning world number 1 Justine Henin with an absolute thrashing in a 6-4 6-0 victory.

amazing from Sharapova and Tsonga, and I wish them all the best in their respective finals!
